Nightlife on Mars – Underground Comedy at Murphy’s Pub – “99th Day of the Year Special”– 4/9!

That’s right, April 9th is the 99th day of the year so come celebrate with a group of comics who each certainly have 99 problems including mental instability, social awkwardness and probably a bitch of some sort as one of the problems as well.

Our guests for our 4/9 “99th Day of the Year Special” show includes:

Abhay Nadkarni - Abhay moved from South-India to South Central Los Angeles for grad school. “But Why?” would be an obvious reaction. Maybe he had a death wish or maybe he wanted to see if Training Day was legit or maybe USC was the only school willing to give him an education. Dodging bullets en-route to grad school armed him with plenty of stories and stand up was his only catharsis for combating culture shock. His act is an eclectic mix of his experience as an immigrant in the US. He recently performed at the Ventura and SAC Comedy Festivals 2014. He was also featured in the best of the fest showcase at the Burbank Comedy Festival-2014. in 2015 he was selected to be a part of SF Sketchfest Comedy Festival and the San Diego Comedy Festival.

Hence Singleton - As a child of the 80‘s growing up in Milwaukee, WI, he has been entertaining since grade school. He had done talent shows in high school, choir, drama club, he also impersonating people like Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods, Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix. Hence started comedy in the mid 90‘s when the MC did not show up for a male dance venue show.  So they tossed him out there.  After 20 minutes of having the crowd eating out of his hand, a comic was born. He has performed at The Comedy Store, Haha Cafe, The LA Improv, The Laugh Factory, Jon Lovitz Up'N Comers Show, The Purple Onion, Tommy T’s, etc, and also performed with Donnel Rawlings, Reginald Ballard, David Raibon, Mike Robles, etc.  Since Hence moved out to California, more opportunities has opened up to him.

Dan Linely - Dan Linley is a homosapien but he’s so much more. He’s also a guy who wears a watch and is extremely good at always gauging what time it is within two minutes. He’s an abysmal swimmer but he’s made his peace with it and so should you. He likes people who say please and thank you, also, burritos. Mayonnaise can go straight to hell. He’s a fan of Doctors Without Borders but on the fence about Doctors Without Pants (see: childhood). If the world were a triangle globes would make better murder weapons.

Diana Hong - Diana Hong is a Sacramento native who took the leap of faith from professional golfer to stand up comic. Her real passion for comedy lies in how laughter is healing and although the world can be a difficult place, it’s beauty and complexity can be revealed through humor. With her endearingly nonchalant demeanor, she charms audiences with personal stories and observations with a sarcastic twist.

Destini Bryant - Destini Bryant is a San Francisco-based writer, comedian and cat lady, originally from Florida.

Draft beers are $1 off during our shows, and Murphy’s has an awesome selection!

Show takes place in a private room in the lower level of Murphy’s Pub, 217 Kearny St (b/t Sutter and Bush).
